EMS Resources – Unconsciousness

In the event of an emergency, dial 9-1-1

Evaluation is critical.

Determine for sure that victim is Unconsciousness.

Summon help from the nearest EMS Provider.

Establish unresponsiveness.

LOOK, LISTEN AND FEEL FOR BREATHING

If victim is not breathing, give mouth to mouth resuscitation (one breath every five seconds).

If victim starts breathing, place him or her in the recovery position to prevent choking. Continue to monitor/reassure the victim until the arrival of EMS personnel.
