Position Overview
The Water Superintendent manages the City water plant and distribution system as per PWS permit and maintains the water treatment facility including plant, grounds, reservoir, water wells, distribution system, fire hydrants and related pumping stations in the city and directs and oversees the work of department employees; manages the laboratory; conducts laboratory analysis; ensures chemical levels are monitored and maintained; performs inspections; and maintains records, reports, and supplies.
Applicants must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of (5) years progressive experience in water plant operations and water distribution and have a knowledge of modern principles of administration and management of a municipal water system with a record of success in supervising the work of others or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
The Water Superintendent is required to work a 40 hour work week and shall be available for emergencies. Applicant will work outdoors and may be exposed to adverse weather conditions.
Applicants must possess a valid Ohio driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and an Ohio Class III Water Operator’s certificate.

The Electric Superintendent manages the City electric system including distribution wires, transformers, substations, grounds, vehicles, generators, lighting and other electrical systems in the city and directs and oversees the work of department employees and supply inventory and operates light and heavy equipment, if required.
Applicants must have knowledge of modern principles of administration and management of a municipal electric utility and must be skilled in the planning, engineering and designing of electric systems components. Experience in electric utility operation, including considerable supervisory responsibility.
