The Columbiana Civil Service Commission is soliciting applicants for the position of Mechanic II – Fulltime. Looking for a highly motivated; service oriented, organized, and positive team player.

Qualifications required: High school diploma or equivalent. 5 years of experience as a mechanic with good welding and fabricating skills. Mechanic certifications a plus. Must possess a valid State of Ohio Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record and possess or be able to obtain a valid State of Ohio Commercial Driver’s License immediately. Must be willing to study manuals and diagrams. Must be able to diagnose equipment for proper repairs and follow instructions. Must have good organizational and time management skills. Testing to demonstrate any required skill level/or training aptitude may be conducted.

The beginning wages for this position is set by the AFSCME Union Contract. Beginning wage for Mechanic II $15.57 per hour.

Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Entry level position, no previous experience is required. Must possess a valid State of Ohio Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record and possess or be able to obtain a valid State of Ohio Commercial Driver’s License within (1) year. Testing to demonstrate any required skill level and/or training aptitude may be conducted.

The beginning wage for the position will be $9.49 per hour and is set by the union contract. Health/Eye/Dental Benefits available after 30 days.
